Volley Scout is operated by GETVOLLEYSCOUT LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through getvolleyscout.com and the Volley Scout app, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions go to contact@getvolleyscout.com.
What we collect
- Waitlist sign-ups. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address.
- Account information. If you have an account, we collect your email address and your sign-in credentials. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in readable form.
- What coaches enter.Scouting data, stats, lineups, notes, and rosters that you and your staff enter, for your own team and for opponents. Rosters use jersey numbers and positions, and coaches may choose to add player names and upload player photos. We don't collect anything else about players, such as contact details, grades, or birthdates.
- Usage statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information, or anyone else's.
- We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't show ads.
- We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising.
How we use information
- To run the service and show your data to your account's users.
- To email waitlist members about Volley Scout, such as when it opens. We don't send other marketing, and every email lets you unsubscribe.
- To answer support requests and keep the service secure.
Who helps us run the service
We share information only with the providers that run parts of the service for us, and only as much as they need to do that job:
- Supabase stores the database, accounts, and uploaded photos.
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the cookieless analytics described above.
- Anthropic processes roster and stat data when you use the optional AI lineup suggestions. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of users or the service.
Students and minors
Volley Scout is built for coaches. Player information is entered by coaching staff, not by players, and the service is not directed to children under 13. Player names and photos are optional. They're visible to the coaches on that team's account, and to anyone a coach chooses to send a share link to. A parent, guardian, player, or school can ask us to remove data about a player, including their name or photo, by emailing contact@getvolleyscout.com, and we'll work with the account's coach to do so.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist emails are kept until the service launches for you or you ask us to remove yours.
- Account data is kept while your account is active. If a paid account ends, it follows the schedule in our Terms of Service: 30 days of read-only access with export, then deletion within 90 days after that.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete your information by emailing contact@getvolleyscout.com. We'll respond within 30 days. These rights are available to everyone, including residents of states with their own privacy laws, such as California, Virginia, and Colorado. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to the users of each account. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll notify affected users without undue delay if a breach involves their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll notify account holders by email before they take effect.
